"We just wanted to say a big thank you for the wonderful time we have all had today for our mums wake. The food was wonderful with no one going hungry, and the staff were lovely. Thanks again"
“My Aunt and Uncle were delighted when we hosted a family lunch for 24 to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary. We had a long table set out in the small lounge which meant we were completely private and could make speeches and toasts without concern for other diners. The menu was tailor-made to meet our requirements, and we were served beautifully – including cutting the cake!”
“We held a family Sunday lunch at Harrogate Golf Club to mark the occasion of my Father’s retirement and 65th birthday. Eighteen of us ate in the small lounge which was very relaxing, especially as we had young children present. We were looked after very well and the food was lovely. Later we took family photos on the veranda and in the gardens to mark the occasion.”
“Three of our children have celebrated their 18th birthdays at The Harrogate Golf Club. Both our sons have been involved at the club for several years and they were happy to have a lunch for the extended family in the dining room. The tables were arranged in a large square in the centre of the room, and although members wandered through from time to time this only added to the celebrations as most people knew our boys, and some bought them an extra pint! Our daughter had an evening party on a Saturday night – a masked ball for her friends, and hired a juke box to provide the music. We did not provide a buffet on this occasion, but brought nibbles for the tables which we decorated ourselves. We trimmed up the dining room with banners and balloons and the young people who came thought Harrogate Golf Club was great. Of course, being youngsters, they wore their jeans but that’s ok at a private function, but they respected the venue and a good time was had by all.”
“When I was a governor at my children’s primary school, I organised a progressive dinner for staff and fellow governors. We ate in the dining room and had a 3-course menu followed by coffee and mints. The ‘progressive’ meal meant that after each course every alternate guest moved round the table to sit next to someone else. This was hugely enjoyable and was a great way of integrating a new staff/governor team. Everyone was made to feel very welcome at The Harrogate Golf Club, and commented on the excellent service and quality of the meal.”
